Accelerating Access to Capital for Minority-Owned Businesses

The disparity in access to capital for Black and Brown founders is well documented, as is the low number of Black and Brown leaders in private equity and venture investing. But promising trends have and disruptive solutions are being put into play to drive change. This episode of Sustainability Leaders is from a recent BMO EMpower Summit, where leaders of color in the investment space share their thoughts on implementing innovative strategies to bridge the resource and capital gap for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs.
In this episode:
Why it’s important to understand that business owners of color receive roughly less than 5% of all capital deployed
Why one problem in the Latino community comes down to the average Latina earning $0.50 on the dollar
How conditions of the public school systems for Black and Brown students in major cities across the country are deteriorating
Sustainability Leaders podcast is live on all major channels including Apple, Google and Spotify.
