Shraddha Sigtia, a master’s student in Metals and Energy Finance at Imperial College London and a scholar through BMO’s Equity Through Education program, enjoys integrating her technical knowledge with financial and economic insights. Born in India, Shraddha always had a passion for geology, natural resources, and analysis. Now, with the support of the BMO scholarship, she can fully focus on furthering her studies while encouraging other women to join her.

“The field of mining and natural resources has historically been male dominated,” says Sigtia. “And as a woman from India, that is a challenge that motivates me.”

On September 20, 2023 BMO’s Equity Through Education program will celebrate 19 years of supporting scholarships, education, and inclusion by donating institutional equity trading commissions to charitable organizations.
