IN Tune: CCUS The Next Gamechanger to De-carbonize Canada’s Oil & Gas Industry

Research & Strategy December 22, 2021
Research & Strategy December 22, 2021

IN Tune is a podcast featuring Equity Research analysts from BMO Capital Markets. Our episodes explore key emerging themes, trends, and issues which are important to our institutional clients globally.

This episode is hosted by Ben Pham, CFA, Energy Infrastructure Analyst; John Gibson, CFA, Oil & Gas CDN Services Analyst; Doug A. Morrow, ESG Strategist

Carbon, Capture, Usage and Storage (CCUS) represents one of the best near-term opportunities to reduce C02 emissions, particularly as Canada looks to meet its 2030 and 2050 reduction targets, and we expect the Canadian Energy industry to play a large role over the next several years. Overall, we estimate CCUS represents a +$10 billion opportunity in the pipeline infrastructure alone, and much more when including the carbon capture facility itself, ancillary infrastructure, and energy services required.

BMO clients can access our recently published, “CCUS Breathes New Life Into Cdn. Pipe Infrastructure With $10B-Plus Opportunity”.
