Fil Papich

As Managing Director and Co-Head of BMO Capital Markets Quebec, Fil is responsible for all BMO Financial Group trading activities in Montreal. Throughout his career, he has served as a client Relationship Manager for institutional and large corporate accounts in Toronto, New York, and London.

From 2015 to 2017, Fil was Co-Head of the Global Trade and Banking Group where he managed the combined domestic Commercial Trade and International Banking Sales team. This group extended and maintained credit lines to foreign countries and counterparties and was responsible for product management. This team marketed all BMO products to banks worldwide while driving down operational risk. Prior to that, Fil created and led the Trading Products Institutional Relationship Management team responsible for deepening the delivery of BMO Capital Markets products and services into the institutional investor client base in North America and Europe.

Fil is actively involved in the community with particular interest in education and health. He is currently Chair of the McGill Engineering Faculty Advancement Board, and on the McGill 200 year Campaign Committee. He is also a board member of the Veritas Fund (Selwyn House) and the Loran Scholars Foundation. Past board memberships include Investment Industry Association of Canada (Chair Quebec Chapter), St Mary’s Hospital Foundation Board, Hillside Tennis Club, Bankers Association for Finance & Trade (Co-Chair North American Chapter), BMO Capital Markets Diversity Council (Chair) and the BMO Capital Markets Risk Committee.

Fil has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from McGill University and an MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.
