Geoff Barsky

Geoff joined BMO in 2006 and has held a variety of roles within the bank. Geoff’s current role is Head of Global I&CB Strategy where he leads all internal and cross‐business initiatives to support the growth of I&CB.
In his prior role as Co-Head of Canadian and International Mergers & Acquisitions he worked on a variety of notable mergers, acquisitions, sale processes, takeover defense, activism defense, strategic investments, joint ventures, fairness opinions, cross border transactions and independent valuation mandates.
Over Geoff’s career he has worked closely with clients in the energy, mining, infrastructure, telecom, real estate, financial services and technology sectors and has advised on more than 50 completed mergers and acquisitions transactions totaling more than $100 billion in transaction value.
Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, Geoff worked for GE Capital in various roles.
Geoff holds a Masters of Business Administration from McGill University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. Geoff is also a CFA Charterholder.
