Prior to the appointment of Co-Head, Global Fixed Income in November 2025, Kate Whalen was Head of Global Client Coverage, which encompasses Global Rates, FX, Credit, and Securitized Products salesforces.

In prior roles, Kate served as Co-Head of Agency CMBS Trading, where she was instrumental in establishing BMO as a market leader in the space. She joined BMO through its acquisition of KGS-Alpha Capital Markets in 2018, having been part of KGS-Alpha since its inception and holding key roles across Securitized Products Sales and Trading.

Kate holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Brown University.
