Phillip Sugimoto

Phillip Sugimoto is a Director in BMO’s Middle Market Investment Bank Coverage group.  In his current capacity, he partners with colleagues across the firm to deliver investment banking solutions to a broad group of Commercial and I&CB clients across North America.

Phillip has over 9 years of investment banking experience advising management teams, owners and boards of directors on various transactions, primarily within leveraged finance that includes leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, acquisition financings and refinancings.  He joined BMO in 2017 and has executed transactions for clients in a number of industry sectors including food, consumer and retail, diversified industrials and technology.

Prior to joining BMO in 2017, Phillip spent 4 years at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey (now Truist) in its Leveraged Finance group primarily focused on borrowers and issuers in the Technology, Media and Telecommunication's industries.

Phillip earned an M.B.A. from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago.
