Richard Couzens is Managing Director and Head of Global Markets, EMEA within BMO Capital Markets. In his role, he has overall accountability for developing and managing all origination, trading, sales, research and structuring activity across EMEA. Richard is responsible for providing leadership, coordination and jurisdictional oversight across Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities and Global Equity & Financing Solutions within our EMEA entities and offices servicing corporate, institutional and government clients. Richard also provides strategic oversight across our Global Markets business in Asia.

Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, Richard held various roles within the cross-asset solutions business at Barclays having led global teams within the Sales and Structuring also serving on various Leadership, Risk and Governance committees. Having worked in both New York and London, Richard also led various strategic and regulatory initiatives across the markets division at Barclays and prior to this worked within Equities at Bear Stearns. He has over 20 years of experience within the financial industry.

Richard has a BA in Business Management from UCLAN and holds the CISI Securities & Derivatives plus FINRA Series 17, 63 & 24.
