As we enter the 19th year of the Equity Through Education program, BMO Capital Markets is continuing to support higher education through the BMO Scholarship for Women in Metals and Energy Finance at Imperial College London.
The scholarship aims to increase the number of women joining the department and to create an environment in which women feel supported and empowered to study. Since the scholarship began in 2015, it has given many deserving women a chance to further their education while gaining real-world experience. While our previous scholars Ana, Glorious and Benedicte, and current scholar, Shraddha, are continuing their work in the Global Metals and Mining field, BMO is proud to see them use their education to foster growth.
"We've started to develop this matrix of relationships, both external and also internal", says Bill Smith, Head, International Capital Markets. "Some of these scholars are going to end up running the mining companies of the future, and we want to be a part of that."
