Calling for Action on Climate Change in Glasgow

As world governments met at the COP26 UN Climate Conference in Glasgow, BMO sent its own delegation to the city to attend the Sustainable Innovation Forum, which occurred in parallel to COP. We joined global thought leaders for three days of discussion and debate around the role of finance and business in fighting climate change, and the BMO Climate Institute issued a call to action. In a video address, BMO Financial Group Chief Sustainability Officer Michael Torrance and Susan McGeachie, Head of the BMO Climate Institute, called for a systems approach to addressing climate change and protecting biodiversity, saying, “Change must start now, and it must be significant.”
